Biography

Graduated as a player from Goldenhill Wanderers to Kidsgrove Athletic and then Nantwich, making his debut in the 3-0 home win over Clitheroe, 25/11/1989. ‘Bucko’ then played Staffs County League football for Audley (90/91) and returned to Kidsgrove in the summer of 1991. Served Goldenhill Wanderers (94/95) and signed for Eastwood Hanley (95/96), re-joining Kidsgrove (1996-97) and then assisting Congleton Town (97/98:5,0).
Returned to Nantwich but left for Newcastle Town (1997-00) in January 1998. Player of the Year for ‘Castle in 00/01, he left in the summer of 2001 going on to play for Eastwood Hanley and Kidsgrove again (01/02). Returned again to Nantwich from the Lyme Valley Stadium during the 01/02 campaign, he was appointed assistant boss when Eddie Bishop resigned from the role in the 2002 close season.
Left to become player/joint manager back at Kidsgrove in the summer of 2004. Then became assistant manager to Nigel Gleghorn at Newcastle Town, briefly returning to Kidsgrove as a player in March 2007, before taking over at Congleton during the 2007 close season as player/joint-manager with Darren Twigg. Resigned from the post at the end of the 10/11 season and was appointed Assistant Manager at Kidsgrove. Returned to Hollinwood Road as Manager (initially Caretaker) in April 2013 but left at the end of the 13/14 campaign.
Returned again as Kidsgrove Assistant Manager in October 2014. Named as Assistant Manager at Chasetown (2017-19) in June 2017, he started another spell as Assistant Manager of Kidsgrove in April 2020.
Later went 'upstairs' to serve as Chairman of Kidsgrove.
