GOAL: 6 Minutes. A nervy looking Nantwich fell behind when Curzon striker MICHAEL NORTON’S ball from the edge of the area found winger MICHAEL O’CONNOR who beat ‘Dabbers’ goalkeeper BEN CHAPMAN from close range.

GOAL: 16 Minutes: A quick break by Curzon down the Nantwich right by DEAN CANNING ended when the midfielder’s low cross was turned in at the far post by LUKE MORGAN.

GOAL: 17 Minutes. Michael Lennon reduced the deficit when he took advantage of some hesitant Curzon defending to slide the ball past visitors ‘keeper JAVIER SANCHEZ.

Meanwhile, JAKE SEDGEMORE was a shade unlucky when his long range effort dipped narrowly over the bar as Nantwich slowly grew in confidence.

On 36 minutes Nantwich had a great chance to draw level when a JAKE SEDGEMORE corner found the rising DAVE WHITTAKER at the far post but again Nantwich were out of luck when his downward header was cleared off the line.

GOAL: 44 Minutes. A cross from the right by substitute CAVELL COO found striker NORTON at the back post who touched home to inflict further damage on a wounded home side.

Nantwich made a double substitution early in the second half – HARRY DAVIS was replaced by MARVIN ROBINSON whilst RODNEY JACK came on for JAKE SEDGEMORE. Meanwhile, the visitors captain DAVID BIRCH was just off target from the edge of the area as his side pressed to extend their advantage.

The majority of the second half was largely uneventful although ROSS DAVIDSON’S 74th minute shot from the edge of the area was only just wide of the target. However, credit to Curzon who were well organised and passionate whereas Nantwich unfortunately were wearing a look of confidence registering close to zero. Late in the half Nantwich made their final substitution when GLYN BLACKHURST replaced DAVE McPHERSON. LENNON reached for a long ball in the 85th minute and was unlucky with an effort that crept over the bar. However, SANCHEZ in the Curzon goal was relatively untroubled in the second half with little more than a single shot to save.
