Biography
Charlie grew up in Tenerife where he was a youth player at UD Guargacho, Juan Miguel and CD Marino. After returning to England, he joined the youth set-up at Port Vale, featuring for their youth and reserve sides, and being named Youth Player of the Year for 2010/11. He went to Hinckley United (11/12:14,1) on a three-month loan in September 2011 and signed permanently for the Conference North outfit in July 2012 having been released by Port Vale without making a senior appearance.
A central or right-sided defender, he left Hinckley (12/13:24,0) for Nantwich in February 2013, making his debut in a 1-0 home defeat to Matlock Town, 16/02/2013. Joined FC United of Manchester (13/14:42,5) in the 2013 close season. Signed for Chesterfield (2014-15:60,1) in April 2014, making his League debut as a substitute at former club Port Vale, 29/08/2014. Joined League One outfit Oxford United (2016-18:22,0) on a five month loan in August 2016, signing for the club on a permanent basis in the 2017 close season. Secured a loan move to Port Vale (17/18:10,0) in January 2018 and a year later went on loan to Cheltenham Town (2019-20:61,4), making the move permanent five months later.
Having been released by Cheltenham, he signed with Oldham Athletic in July 2023, helping gain promotion back to the Football League in 2025, before he moved on to Barrow (25/26). Left for Radcliffe in August 2026 following the Bluebirds’ relegation from the EFL.
