Well-deserved win
for 'A' team

Crewe Alexandra's A team scored
a surprise, but a well-deserved win
over neighbours Nantwich, under the
Gresty Road lights.
The ground conditions did not
suit Nantwich, and although they
were holding their own at half-time,
they had no answer to the quick
thinking, quick moving Crewe side.
Perry sent over a corner-kick and
Ash nodded in brilliantly through a
crowd of defenders to put Crewe
ahead but Nantwich equalised when
Surridge netted from 18 yards.
In the second period it was all
Crewe, with Clowery and Morgans
playing some clever football.
Gcoff Morgans, scored the best goal
of the game, with a hard low shot
from the edge of the area and
within a minute Perry scored from 30
yards.
The issue was sealed when
Edwards scored for Crewe mid-way
h:ough the half.
In the Crewe defence Major and
Dodd were outstanding, while for
Nantwich credit can only be given to
oalkeeper Ray and right-winger
Cooper.
