Despite leading three times in this pulsating match, Nantwich had to settle for a point as a stoppage time goal from Darren Stride prevented the Dabbers recording a first win of the season. Here’s how the action unfolded:
6mins. Zak Foster's corner from the right is fumbled by home keeper Ryan Price and Ash Carter is on hand to prod the ball home to give the Dabbers an early lead.
27mins. Chasetown's Gary Hay's header tees up Ben Jevons who volleys just over the bar from 15 yards.
30mins. Nantwich's Zak Foster clips a 25 yard free-kick over the bar.
31mins. Carl Ruffer's clearing header is chased on to by Ben Mills whose first shot is parried by Price but the Nantwich striker is hauled down as he goes for the rebound. Mills steps up to calmly stroke home the penalty to make it 2-0.
42mins. Jimmy Kelly is dispossessed in the middle of the park allowing Hay to slip the ball to Alex Steadman who drills through keeper Jonny Brain’s legs to pull a goal back for the hosts.
50mins. Hay forces Brain into a decent save low down to his right.
60mins. Matt Lowe's deep cross from the right finds Mills at the back post but the former Stafford striker heads wide of the target.
63mins. Jevons equalises with a header at the back post after concerted Chasetown pressure.
66mins. Nantwich restore their advantage. Mills sets Sam Aspinwall clear but he is shepherded away from goal by Price but Mills follows up to smash home from a narrow angle.
74mins. It’s 3-3. Nantwich fail to close the ball down and Steadman curls home his second from 15yards.
87mins. Again the Dabbers take the lead. Kelly rolls the ball into the path of substitute Michael Lennon who cuts inside and fires past Price.
90min. Another high ball into the box causes panic in the visiting defence and Darren Stride rises to equalise with a pin-point looping header that gives Brain no chance.
