Biography

Graduated through the youth ranks at Port Vale (1959-60:10,3lge) to sign professional forms in July 1958. Made his League debut at Bradford City, 09/04/1960. Nicknamed ‘Dan’, the inside forward joined Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic (1961-66:139,37lge) on a free transfer in May 1961. In September 1966, he returned north to Crewe Alexandra (1966-68:59+1,16lge), moving on to Huddersfield Town (67/68:7+2,0lge) in January 1968 and finally Chesterfield (1969-71:116,24lge) in May 1969.

Joined Sandbach Ramblers (72/73) in the 1972 close season, being appointed Player-Manager. Left Newall Avenue in the summer of 1974 for Congleton Town (74/75:5,2) before holding the Nantwich managerial reins from January 1982 to the summer of 1982. After retiring from pro football, he was employed as a greenkeeper at Malkins Bank Golf Course in Sandbach.
