Biography
Phil joined Nantwich in August 1979 having previously played local soccer with Crewe Youth Centre and had trials with Blackpool. Kept a clean sheet on his debut, a 1-0 home win over Droylsden, 18/08/1979. Lost his place to Alan Ryder following his return from Australia and so in September 1980 left for Congleton Town where his appearances were restricted to the reserves. A blacksmith by trade, he briefly returned during the 82/83 campaign and later became a renowned local golfer.
