Biography
Started his career at Blackburn Rovers, being capped by England as a youth international. At 18, he went on loan to Birmingham City, Liverpool and Stoke City playing in the clubs` reserve teams for a short period of time before signing for Nottingham Forest where he spent two-and-half years. Moved into non-League football playing for Blackpool Mechanics (05/06), AFC Fylde, Warrington Town and New Mills and he also played in the USA for Maine Sting which led to a trial at Atlanta Silverbacks.
‘Stevo’ trialled at Leicester City on returning to the UK before signing for Plymouth Argyle, then linking up with Conference Premier outfit Fleetwood Town where he was part of the squad that reached the FA Cup Third Round and won promotion. At the end of the season he moved back into the Conference Premier with Barrow AFC before moving to Southport, leaving the Sandgrounders for Nantwich in December 2013. Made his Dabbers’ debut in the 1-0 defeat at Ashton United, 11/12/2013. It was his only Nantwich appearance before signing for Stalybridge Celtic in January 2014, and then moving on to New Mills later that month. Left the Millers for AFC Fylde in March 2014, switching to Salford City in August 2014 but joined Kendal Town later that month without making a competitive appearance for the Ammies.
Returned to the Weaver Stadium in October 2014 for a second stint. Appointed goalkeeping coach for 1874 Northwich in July 2018.
