Biography

Rod was on the books of Manchester City before joining Stoke City’s Academy in 2005. Loaned to Nantwich by the Potters in October 2009, making his only appearance as a substitute in the 4-1 FA Trophy home win over Leek Town, 31/10/2009. Moved on to Oldham Athletic, signing a one-year contract in August 2010 and making his only senior appearance as a substitute in the Football League Trophy. Went on a month’s loan to Stafford Rangers (10/11:4,0) in October 2010 before joining the Dabbers for a second time in February 2011 on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Released by Oldham in the 2011 close season, he joined Colwyn Bay (11/12:15,0lge) in the Conference North returning to Nantwich on a permanent basis in December 2011. Departed for Hereford United (2012-13:48,4) in January 2013 and then signed for AFC Telford United (14/15:22,2).

Stepped up to League Two with Northampton Town (2015-16:37,3) in the 2015 close season, making his League debut against Exeter City, 15/08/2015. Joined Coventry City (17/18:41,0) for an undisclosed fee in May 2017. Transferred to AFC Wimbledon (2018-19:40+6,0) for an undisclosed fee in August 2018. Signed for Carlisle United (2020-21:66,1) in August 2020 before joining Crewe Alexandra (22/23:36,2) in June 2022. Subsequently moved on to League Two rivals Harrogate Town (23/24:27,1) in June 2023 and, 12 months later, to Notts County. Son of Rodney (snr) and younger brother of Clayton.
