Biography
Winger who was on the books of Manchester United as a junior from 1959. Signed professional forms in October 1961 but joined Southport (63/64:26,1) in July 1963 after failing to make the United first team. Made his League debut for the Sandgrounders at Lincoln City, 24/08/1963. Then served Altrincham (64/65) and Macclesfield Town (1964-67:125+3,18), making his debut for the Silkmen in November 1964.
A stylish, fast and clever ball player, he was a salesman in the soft drinks trade whilst at Macclesfield. Left for Stafford Rangers (1968-70) in 1968, then signed for Northwich Victoria (70/1:10,0) in March 1971 before becoming one of Colin Hutchinson’s first signings for Nantwich in January 1973, making his debut in the 3-1 Cheshire Senior Cup defeat at home to Stockport County, 27/01/1973.
Released in the summer of 1975, he resided in Prestwich and ran a pub there and also worked for Littlewoods Pools.
