Biography

Started out with hometown youth side Shamrock before joining Celtic (1960-63). Failed to break into their first team, so moved south of the border to join Crewe Alexandra (1963-67:141,44) netting an impressive tally of goals as a winger. Moved on to Aldershot (1967-70:113,27) and then Rochdale (1970-74:144,21) before bringing down the curtain on his League career with Southport (74/75:4,0). Joined Nantwich where he was part of the 1976 Cheshire Senior Cup winning squad. Released in the summer of 1976, he served Whitchurch Alport initially as player (1979-80) and then Manager (81/82).
Managed Nantwich from the summer of 1982 until January 1983, making occasional appearances for the club. Worked for British Rail after his retirement from the pro game, representing the BR national side in several international tournaments.
