Biography

Ray scored Nantwich’s first goal on the club’s return to the Cheshire County League in the 1968/69 season (in a 3-1 defeat at Buxton). The brother of Tranmere stalwart Alan, he started out as an amateur at Prenton Park in May 1964.
Signed professional forms in September 1966 but switched to Nantwich during the 1968 close season without having made Rovers’ first team. Made his debut in the 3-0 home defeat to Buxton, 10/08/1968. Moved on to Sandbach Ramblers for the 69/70 campaign.
