Biography
An England Schoolboy international who served St.Helens Town, leaving them for Mossley (89/90:28,3) in August 1989 and then moving on to Knowsley United in December 1989, helping them to the NWCL Division 1 title in 1991. A fast and skillful player, he was appointed player-manager of Prescot (1991-94) early in the 91/92 campaign. Named NWCL Division 1 Manager of the Month for March 1992, he relinquished control in the summer of 1995.
Briefly returned to Knowsley but, on his release, signed for Nantwich in October 1995, making his debut in the 1-0 defeat at Glossop North End, 10/10/1995. Released in the summer of 1996, he started the 96/97 campaign with Garswood United in the NWCL Second Division and then served St.Helens (96/97:11,0). By 00/01, he was back playing for Prescot Cables and again featured occasionally for St.Helens (2004-05) as player-assistant manager, then manager.
Resigned from the post in September 2006, playing for Alsager Town (06/07) before being appointed Manager of Winsford United for the 07/08 campaign. Managed the Blues for two seasons before returning to Prescot as Manager in May 2009. He stayed in the Valerie Park hotseat until November 2010. A Director at Prescot Cables, he also managed Cables’ reserve side, stepping up to the role of first team caretaker manager for one match in August 2015 and subsequently took on the role of Vice Chairman.
