Biography

Born c.1964. Started on the books of Northwich Victoria, signing for Ashton United alongside namesake Neil in March 1986. Joined Nantwich from Winsford United as a forward in April 1987, scoring on his debut in the 1-1 home draw with Daisy Hill, 04/04/1987. Despite switching to become a central defender in September 1987, ‘Budgie’ was joint top-scorer in 87/88 (with 5 goals!) as the Dabbers struggled in the Second Division of the NW Counties League.

Returned to Winsford United (1988-89) in December 1988 and then re-joined the Dabbers from Winsford in September 1990. Also served Kidsgrove Athletic (1993-94) and Middlewich Athletic (95/96), leaving ‘The Witches’ for Congleton Town (96/97:6,0) in the summer of 1996. Later returned to Middlewich (97/98).
