Biography
Appeared as an 18 year old for Winsford United (68/69) before making a single appearance for Witton Albion in October 1969. Served Middlewich Athletic before returning to Witton (71/72:5+2,1) in the summer of 1971. Again assisted Middlewich, leaving the Witches for Congleton Town (1976-82:165,4) during the 76/77 campaign. Featured again for Middlewich Athletic (80/81).
Could also play on the left wing and was brought in by new Nantwich boss Roy Campbell as one of a number of debutants in the home 4-0 defeat to Winsford United, 29/01/1983. Also acted as caretaker manager for the 5-0 defeat at Ford Motors in the League Cup in September 1983, prior to the appointment of Alan A’Court. Returned to Congleton (83/84:4,0) where he became Manager, twice scooping the NWCL Manager of the Month Award in the 85/86 campaign, being pipped to the title on goal difference. Resigned in February 1987, later becoming a scout for Fulham. Father of Steve.
