Biography

Jimmy was a good all round footballer who started out with Eppleton Colliery Welfare before signing for Doncaster Rovers (1957-59:45,15) in January 1958. Played League football for Rovers before switching to Stockport County (1959-60:65,19) in January 1960.
Served Altrincham (1961-62:58,23) before becoming part of the Nantwich side that won the ‘treble’ in 63/64, lifting the Mid-Cheshire League, League Cup and Cheshire Amateur Cup.
In August 1964, he left for Witton Albion (64/65:24,10), briefly returning to Nantwich in January 1965 before joining Ashton United (64/65:10,4) in March 1965.
Played for Cheshire in their amateur match against Manchester FA in November 1964.
