Winger Danny Griggs will leave for Gatwick Airport immediately after the game at the Tameside Stadium to join up with the FA Futsal squad who are playing in an international tournament in Poland next week.Griggs, it has been discovered, is playing with a lower abdomen injury that, confusingly causes no discomfort whilst playing, but for which is quite painful later.However,the 26 year old is completing only light,or no training at all at the present time.
Meanwhile,club captain and midfielder Phil Parkinson is at least two week’s away from returning to training following a recent work related accident to his right ankle.A continuation of injuries and suspension affecting his players since the first day of the season has resulted in Head Coach Steve Davis being unable to field the same line up twice in succession.
