Biography
Ted was a bustling forward on the books of Crewe Alexandra who served Whitchurch Alport and signed for Sandbach Ramblers in the summer of 1974 before making a single appearance for Witton Albion in October 1976. Joined Middlewich Athletic, topping their scoring charts in the 1977/78 Cheshire County League campaign. Signed by Crewe Alexandra, ‘Whitey’ made a single League appearance for the Alex at home to Scunthorpe United, 05/05/1979, before joining Nantwich in November 1979. Made his debut in the 1-0 home win over Horwich RMI, 24/11/1979.
In February 1980 he debuted for Witton Albion (79/80:4+1,2). Also figured for Congleton Town (1979-80:24,2) in and made a cup appearance for Northwich Victoria (80/81:1,0). Re-joined Nantwich in February 1981 to become part of the Dabbers’ 80/81 Cheshire County League winning season.
Left for Whitchurch Alport in November 1981, also making a brief return to Congleton (81/82:1,0). Was back at Jackson Avenue early in the 82/83 campaign, leaving to join Leek Town (82/83) and then signing for Eastwood Hanley in August 1983. Briefly returned to Nantwich again in the 1986 close season.
