Biography
Involved in the youth set ups at Bolton Wanderers, Blackburn Rovers, Burnley and Oldham Athletic, Tony served as an apprentice with home town Chesterfield (1965-66:5+1,0lge) before signing professional forms in October 1964 and making his League debut at Wrexham, 25/10/1965.
Dropped into non-league football with Worksop Town and Boston. Converted from full back to forward, he was with Northwich Victoria (71/72:19,5) before signing for Nantwich in December 1971. Scored on his debut in the 2-1 home defeat to Sandbach Ramblers, 27/12/1971.
Joined Mossley (72/73:9,0) in August 1972 but was released a month later.
