Biography
A youth player at Deer Orchard and on the books of Carlisle United before becoming a reserve team player at Macclesfield Town. Renowned for his pace, ‘Flash’ briefly featured for Macclesfield (68/69:1+2,0) in the Northern Premier League before switching to Nantwich with Alan Blinkho at Christmas 1968.
Subsequently joined Netherfield, topping the Northern Premier League charts with 29 goals in 72/73. Stepped up to League football with Workington (1973-74:56,9) in December 1973 joining Hartlepool United (75/76:6,1) in the summer of 1975. Returned to Workington (77/78:26,2) after they dropped out of the League - completing his career in his home town of Cockermouth, playing for them into his 40s. Sadly passed after suffering from Motor Neurone Disease.
