Biography

Ray was a familiar face in the Nantwich line-up during the 1950s, the right winger had been a youth player with Nantwich Athletic and represented the Crewe & District FA youth side before first appearing for the Dabbers. Served Willaston White Star (52/53) and Whitchurch Alport (1953-57), signing amateur forms with Shrewsbury Town in June 1954.

Re-joined Nantwich from Whitchurch Alport in November 1957 and played Cheshire County League football with Crewe Alexandra Reserves (58/59) under dual registration. Also captained Nantwich Cricket Club.
