Biography

Chris was a right back who started out with Foden’s and appeared for Bideford before developing through the ranks at Crewe Alexandra (1951-57:44,0lge). Started with the Alex’s ‘A’ team during their 51/52 Mid-Cheshire League campaign and was selected for the Mid-Cheshire League’s inaugural representative match in October 1952. Signed senior forms for the Alex in December 1952 and progressed through the reserve side to make his League debut at home to Mansfield Town on Boxing Day 1953.

Had a trial spell with Rochdale in October 1956 but was released by Crewe in the summer of 1958. Served Caernarvon Town in the Welsh League and signed for Brush Sports (58/59) in the Birmingham League before joining Nantwich in November 1958. Made his debut in the 2-2 home draw with Sandbach Ramblers, 08/11/1958.
