Biography
As a promising teenager, Jimmy was an amateur with Stoke City and Macclesfield, and played for Crewe Alexandra ‘A’ before making an occasional appearance for Nantwich during the 1956/57 Mid-Cheshire League campaign. Captained Crewe League side Wheelock Trojans (57/58) at the age of 17. A fitter in Crewe works, the left half re-joined Crewe Alexandra ‘A’ (59/60) before returning to Nantwich and playing at centre half.
