Biography
Diminuitive and pacy striker who was with Eastwood Hanley (92/93) before netting eight goals in the first seven games of Kidsgrove Athletic’s 1993/94 NW Counties League campaign. A fee of £350 took him from Redgate Clayton to Knypersley Victoria and in August 1995 he signed for Leek Town (1995-96).
Assisted the Dabbers under dual registration, making his debut in the 2-1 defeat at home to Glossop North End, 23/08/1995. Featured again for the Dabbers late in the 96/97 campaign before returning to Kidsgrove (1997-99) in the summer of 1997. Re-joined Leek in March 2000 but his Leek career was ended by a serious knee injury in the final game of that season, having totalled 12 goals in 58 appearances at Harrison Park. After a season long rehabilitation, Richie returned to Kidsgrove and netted 4 goals for Rocester (01/02) before appearing for Norton United (2001-03).
