Biography

Kept goal for Hartford (61/62) and then the Dabbers’ reserves, also appearing for the first team during the 1962/63 campaign. Became trainer for the reserves, taking over as first team trainer in 1966. Briefly served as Caretaker Manager following Bill Calder’s resignation in December 1972, subsequently returning to the role of trainer which he retained through to June 1979. Gave long service to both British Rail and Rolls Royce at their works in Crewe.
