Biography

Les joined the Dabbers from Crewe & District League side Hightown Youth Centre who he helped to the Crewe Junior League and Junior Shield double in 1951/52. The Dabbers’ top scorer for two seasons in the late 1950s earnt him selection for the Mid-Cheshire League representative side and a trial at Blackburn where he made two appearances for Rovers’ ‘A’ team.

Left for Middlewich Athletic (1957-59) in October 1957 but returned for a second spell in the 61/62 season to take his Nantwich goal tally to 83 and put him in the top 10 post-war Nantwich scorers. Twin brother of Bob.
