Nantwich Town secured a valuable 3 points with a 2-1 away win at Mickleover Sports.

Two goals in six second half minutes earned the Dabbers all three points in Derbyshire. Dave Cooke’s men had trailed 1-0 at the break, after Grayson’s prod home from close range gave the hosts an early advantage.

And Dabbers keeper Burzynski came to the rescue a couple of times in an even contest in the first half.

But Cooke’s half-time talk did the world of good as Nantwich came out firing.

Sean Cooke and Steve Jones were brought on to add firepower up front, and it soon paid off.

Cooke helped the Dabbers earn a penalty in the 53rd minute after a handball in the Mickleover box. And the substitute, returning after a long injury lay-off, blasted the spot-kick down the middle for 1-1.

Six minutes later, Cooke’s brilliant dummy let the ball run through to Kaiman Anderson who finished clinically with his left foot for 2-1. It was 20-year-old Anderson’s first for the club since signing on loan from Southport FC.

The hosts pressed for a leveller, but were denied on a number of occasions by excellent defending by Joel Stair and Troy Bourne.

Cooke almost added a third when he blasted against the bar after a fine mazy run.

A brave save from Burzynski at the death ensured Nantwich earned all three points ahead of their Bank Holiday Monday home clash with Barwell
