A thoroughly professional performance from Nantwich Town saw them pick up their second home win of the season against Whitby.
Goals from Michael Lennon and Ben Mills gave the Dabbers a 2-0 victory at the Weaver Stadium.
Whitby could have taken the lead on ten minutes when Darren Williams’ right footed strike looked destined for the top corner only for a fantastic save from Jonathan Brain.
The Dabbers were the dominant side though and should have taken the lead on the half hour mark when Ashley Carter shot just wide from 18 yards.
Nantwich took the lead on the stroke of half time when Michael Lennon latched on to Niall Maguire’s pass and then coolly rounded David Campbell to score his fourth goal of the season.
The Seasiders never looked like equalising and after Lennon had twice gone close to extending the lead, Ben Mills scored what could well be the goal of the season.
The divisions leading goalscorer picked the ball up 30 yards from goal and crashed a shot into the top right hand corner leaving Campbell with no chance.
Sean Cooke and Darren Moss both tested Campbell soon after but neither found the net on what was an impeccable afternoon all round for the Dabbers.
Man of the match Aleksandrs Solovjovs could have made it 3-0 in the closing stages as his 25 yard drive went just wide.
