Match Report
This was the Dabbers last visit to St.Helens' old ground at Hoghton Road with its iconic stand (pictured). The following season, the Saints shared the rugby league stadium at Knowsley Road.
Former Crewe Alex player Glenn Walker gave the hosts the lead after a quarter of an hour but the Dabbers equalised before the break when Gareth Chadwick netted from Danny Griggs' corner. Walker restored the Saints' lead on 63 minutes with Gary Laird sewing up the home win 13 minutes from time.
