Biography

Appointed Manager in the summer of 1983 following the departure of Roy Campbell, Mick left the club in September 1983 after just seven games in charge.

As a player, Mick had been on the books of Burnley, leaving them for Accrington Stanley in August 1961 for a £1000 fee. He appeared in Stanley’s last League game before folding – a 4-0 defeat at Crewe Alexandra in March 1962. He was on the books of Cambridge United and appeared for Congleton Town (64/65:34,4). Had a second spell with Congleton (71/72:32,0) and became a trainer with Macclesfield Town and Winsford United.

Managed Witton Albion Reserves (73/74) before stepping up to first team chief in the summer of 1974, resigning in November 1974. Was a coach with Bury for three seasons before joining Nantwich as Assistant to new boss Roy Campbell in January 1983.

After his short spell as Nantwich boss, he managed the Congleton Town reserve side (1987-88) stepping up as first team joint-Manager (89/90) before becoming Manager of Winsford United in October 1989 (1989-90).
